Daniele Galliano: Here We Are

The Corner Gallery in Andes, NY, is pleased to present a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings by renowned Italian artist Daniele Galliano, curated by Jennifer Bacon and Filippo Fossati.

Daniele Galliano, born in Pinerolo in 1961 and self-taught, has established himself as one of the leading voices of contemporary figurative painting. Known for his distinct style of "pictophotographic realism,” Galliano’s work captures the intensity and intimacy of everyday life, often viewed from peculiar perspectives, blurring the lines between reality and perception.

Galliano's artistic journey began in Turin, where he continues to live and work. His mastery of painting has earned him international acclaim, leading to solo exhibitions in prestigious venues such as Galleria Annina Nosei, New York (1996, 1997), Galleria In Arco, Turin (1992, 1994), Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, Rome (1996), Artiscope, Brussels (2008), Studio d’Arte Cannaviello, Milan (1994, 2001), Galerie Voss, Dusseldorf (2002), Galería Distrito Cu4tro, Madrid (2004), Esso Gallery, New York (2010), Animateka, Ljubljana, Slovenia (2013), Gangurinn the Corridor, Reykjavik, Iceland (2016), and Livingstone Gallery, The Hague, The Netherlands (2011, 2013, 2021, 2023).

Throughout his career, Galliano’s work has been featured in prominent group exhibitions worldwide, including the Galleria d’Arte Moderna of Bologna, the XII Quadrennial of Rome, and the Rupertinum Museum of Salzburg. His participation in major international biennials, such as the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009), the Ninth Biennale of Havana (2006), and the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2016), further establishes his significant impact on contemporary art.

Galliano’s works are housed in esteemed public and private collections, including the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Turin, MART of Trento and Rovereto, and the Unicredit Private Banking Collection, Milan. His collaborations with musicians, filmmakers, and writers further underscore the interdisciplinary nature of his practice, expanding his haunting and evocative imagery into wider cultural spheres.

To mark this special occasion, a limited edition publication and portfolio will be released, offering collectors and art enthusiasts a unique insight into Galliano’s evolving body of work.
